Bilal Farooq is an Assistant Professor in Transportation Engineering at Ryerson University where he is the Canada Research Chair in Disruptive Transportation Technologies and Services.
From 2013-2017 he worked as an Assistant Professor at École Polytechnique Montréal, Canada, where he was the Founding Director of Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and Québec Research Fund (FRQ) sponsored Laboratory of Innovations in Transportation (LITrans).
He has received the Early-Career Research Award from the province of Québec, Canada in 2014. He has published more than 60 refereed research articles in high impact factor journals and conference proceedings, 1 book, and 3 invited book chapters.
His current research goal is to develop multidisciplinary, cyber-physical, and highly-intelligent solutions for sustainable planning, design, and operations of urban transportation systems.
