Andrew Macklin is the editor of ReNew Canada, the only magazine that exclusively covers the national public sector infrastructure industry.
As editor of ReNew Canada, Macklin is responsible for publishing content on the key issues, innovations, and investments that are impacting the design, build, finance, operation and maintenance of infrastructure projects across the country. He is also responsible for researching and writing the annual Top100Projects report, which provides in-depth information on Canada’s 100 largest public sector infrastructure projects currently under development in Canada (by value).
Prior to joining ReNew Canada, he spent 4 ½ years covering the national resources sector at Annex Business Media. Macklin’s work focused on coverage of projects, technology and industry trends in the heavy construction, forestry and bioenergy sectors, travelling throughout Canada and around the world to understand the work being done by Canadians in those sectors.
His 16 years in the media and communications industry has spanned multiple community and even more disciplines. In the media, Macklin has worked in multiple markets in southwestern Ontario reporting and producing live news, live sports, and weekly talk shows, dabbling in print, radio and television. On the communications side, he has extensive experience writing media and communications tools for political campaigns, corporate website, large-scale events, and community initiatives.
Macklin is also a tireless community volunteer, having served on local community boards for organizations including Kids Help Phone and Crimestoppers, and was a member of the media relations team during the PanAm Games in Toronto.
